Frequently Asked Questions
If you or someone you care for is dependent on alcohol or drugs and is seeking recovery from the disease of addiction, it is important to remember that no single recovery approach is appropriate for all individuals. Finding the right program of recovery for the suffering addict or alcoholic requires careful consideration. Many aspects such as the setting and location, length of care, philosophical approach, special needs of the individual, etc. should factor into the final decision.
Following are some frequently asked questions and answers that are specific to Recovery Alliance and its recovery facility, Casa Vida de Salud.
- Does the program accept insurance? If not, will they work with you on a payment plan or find other means of support for you?
- Currently, we do not accept insurance, but we can assist you in accessing other sources of funding.
- Is the program run by state-accredited, licensed and/or trained professionals?
- We provide peer to peer support, that is to say, one person in recovery working directly with another person in recovery. Experience has proven that there is no one “better equipped” to help an addict or alcoholic than someone who has been there. The competant staff at Casa Vida de Salud has a wealth of work experience and solid recovery experience, and we are extensively trained in providing peer support services.
- Is the facility clean, organized and well-run?
- Yes. The facility is peer-run and operated, and we comply with local, state and national codes.
- Does the program encompass the full range of needs of the individual (medical: including infectious diseases; psychological: including co-occurring mental illness; social; vocational; legal; etc.)?
- The Recovery Alliance provides recovery support services on many different levels – all based on what is needed and recommended to match the participant to the least restrictive, most appropriate level of care. Services include residential, vocational, social and spiritual support. While we are not specifically a medical/ psychological model of care, we frequently assist peers with referrals to other providers that offer services outside of the Casa Vida continuum of care.
- Does the program address sexual orientation and physical disabilities as well as provide age, gender and culturally appropriate treatment services?
- Of course, the individual who desires recovery must be willing and able to adjust to the guidelines of our program. However, no person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under our program or services on the basis of age, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, creed, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, socioeconomic status or ability to pay. We are sensitive to social issues, and are more than willing to assist peers in seeking resources. Still, while we do not discriminate, we cannot always accommodate each peer’s individual needs. OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS ON RECOVERY FROM ADDICTION, and we are willing to do whatever is necessary to preserve that mission.
- Is long-term support provided and maintained?
- We STRONGLY support a continuum of care.
